- Babies ready for the cold
- Ninas all snuggled up
- Boys keeping warm
Jonathan Skeen has been coming to the orphanage since he was 15. He and his wife Rachel make several trips a year from their home in Warrior, Alabama. They visited the orphanage in January, using their skills as nurses to help care for some of the kids who had upper respiratory infections. The kids love when Jonathan and Rachel visit. They typically make a trip to the Soriana for groceries and celebrate their last day before heading back to Alabama with a pizza party.
The kids had several groups visit them during Christmas this year – including groups from
Florida and Austin, Livingston, San Antonio and Frisco, Texas.
A business in Frisco collected new coats, shoes and toothbrushes, a true blessing…especially in light of the cold snap that hit Nuevo Laredo.
The mayor (in Mexico, referred to as President) of Nuevo Laredo visited the orphanage and was very impressed with the work that Mama Lupita is doing. Aren’t we all!
A group from Preston Trail Community Church in Frisco, Texas came to Casa Hogar October 8th armed with new baby beds, mattresses, dressers…..and adult-sized trundle beds for the teenage girls who stay with, and take such good care of the babies.
The goodies were a result of a CHE Baby Shower that was hosted at the Lakes Tennis Academy in Frisco and attended by over 60 generous ladies who have a real heart for the kids at Casa Hogar.
Thanks so much for your help…the babies are sleeping much better, and the teen girls are no longer sleeping in toddler beds and on the floor!
